The breeze of dusk hits mother earth
Fiery winds spring in the air
Squint-eyed glances are met
The darkness confronts you to dare
Torches and lamps so luminous
Fling open their eyes in succession
As deep in the night as it goes
Tolerance is the brick we stand on
Dizzily, our heavy eyes fall
Stillness becomes the order
The deadness of the night takes its toll
Like roving ghosts at the grave’s border
A cock’s sonorous noise startles
And rising men jerk into light
The dawn is here and life chortles
Another day –to fend and fight.
