Like the yellow sun at early dawn,
a beauty of a land is newly born
A place of peace and tranquility,
devoid of rancour and poverty.
My homeland stands tall with dignity,
unwrapping its cocoon of iniquity.
I see a land where the sick can smile
where justice doesn’t just last a while.
Behold a place nations behold,
as a model of beauty yet untold.
A land that remains bright at night,
whose inhabitants aren’t shocked to see light!
I hear a nation with just one voice,
where violence and strife are never a choice,
where leaders are true and promises are kept
and everyone longs to give their best.
Right in this world of pessimism,
I see the Nigeria of my dreams.
